Where to stay in Zante

The best base on Zakynthos depends on what kind of island you want. The town gives flexibility, the south gives sand and marine-park geography, the northeast is easier and calmer, and the west is better as a day trip than as a first default stay.

Zakynthos Town and Bohali

Best if you want town walks, restaurants, cultural anchors and a flexible starting point for different day trips.

Tsilivi and Planos

A strong choice for easier beach access, family-friendly stays and quick returns to the town side.

Alykes and Alykanas

These bases suit calmer northeast days, easy sand and a less urban version of the island.

Laganas and Kalamaki

Useful if southern sand and longer beach time matter most, but Laganas is also the island's loudest nightlife zone.

Vasilikos

A better fit when your priority is the southern beach belt, marine-park geography and a quieter landscape.

Keri and Limni Keri

Choose this side if you care about the southwest mood, sea caves, cliff views and a more tucked-away stay.

Agios Nikolaos or nearby north bases

Worth it only if the Blue Caves, the north coast and boat-led days are central enough to justify a more specific base.

Choose the base by daily geography, not just by the cheapest room or the loudest name.
Laganas and Bohali are not interchangeable evening atmospheres.
If you only have a short stay, do not sleep too far from the side of the island you care about most.
